Why You Shouldn’t Hate Yourself & Expect Results

Hating yourself WILL NOT keep you on track for a sustainable change. Entering into any changes in one’s life is often a challenge for people. They are set in their ways or fear the unknown. However, when it comes to our health, if we view the fact that we hate ourselves as our REASON to change, we are setting ourselves up for another disappointment.
Entering the change with a negative attitude about ourselves will prevent us from showing up on the “hard days”. And there will be hard days. A whole lot. If we already dislike ourselves going into this, we are more likely to throw in the towel. Hating and despising is easy. Giving up on ourselves is easy. We are “okay” with the disappointment we feel by giving up on ourselves because…well, we don’t like ourselves. This is a reality for many and not a good place to be.
Going into a physical/emotional/mental transformation because we LOVE ourselves…that’s where the power is. We will show up time and time again because we want to be as healthy as we can be. We know that these actions are benefitting our bodies little by little, day by day. Over time, they compound and add up to big changes. Changes that, even though we may have been a little scared to commit to, are having a massive impact on our quality of life. Who doesn’t want to wake up every day and feel amazing, enjoy their entire day, and then go to bed very satisfied that everything they had the privilege to do gave them extreme fulfillment??
You are amazing. Approach any improvements to your health with the mindset that you are doing it because you deserve to be healthy and happy. Don’t get dragged down in the negativity. Give yourself huge props for showing up, doing your best, and staying dedicated.
